| Japanese June 19, 2006 - July 11, 2006: Trip to Europe | |
| | June 25, We took a train to Interlaken Ost. |
| We changed the train and headed to Grindelwald and then Grund. | |
| | From Grund, we took a gondla. |
| Four seated gondla took us to Mannlichen. Through the window, we enjoyed grand view of Eiger,Mench, and Jungfrau. | |
| | We started Alpen hiking from Mannlichen (2230) guided by a young female guide. |
| We walked on the snow. | |
| | Wonderful hiking course. |
| We walked down to Kleine Scheidegg (2061.) | |
| | Many lovely flowers welcomed us. |
| A Japanese novelist Jirou Nitta sleeps here. | |
| | After the lunch, we headed to Jungfraujoch and Sphinx Viewpoint. |
| The train passes through the great Eiger wall. Through the two "windows" on the way, we could see the glacier and down world. The train completed in 1896. | |
| | 3456m Jungfraujoch station. |
| Unfortunately, the Sphinx Viewpoint was in the cold cloud. We could see nothing but white mist. | |
| | We soon got back into the building and visited Ice Palace. |
| In the building was the highest post box in Europe. The red post box was presented from Mt. Fuji of Japan post office. | |
| | We returned Interlaken. Alpen Edelweiss. |
| We took dinner at the town corner. The pizza was good. | |
| | |
