November 22, 2000: Welcome to Chersy Garden Opening Club |

| Mr. Aida, a doctoral student of Landscape Architecture Science Course in Regional Environment Science Department of Tokyo University of Agriculture, came down to Oita for research upon invitation of Ms. Hara who runs Chersy Club, a garden opening club in Oita. We took we-were-there picture at my house. From left, Mie, Hara, and Aida.
Mr. Aida first got information on garden opening by browsing my homepage. The Internet opened a new friendship as usual. In the afternoon, Aida met people who opened their gardens to public and discussed Aida's research theme and his experience on actual movement of garden opening in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, I couldn't join the discussion, but Hara kindly took him to my house in the evening. |

| My husband joined a pleasant talk in my house by hearing Aida's study tour to England. We then drove up to downtown Oita to enjoy dinner. We entered in a fish restaurant in order to make Aida experience the special food of Oita such as local Sashimi, chicken, fried puffing fish, and others. I was fascinated with Aida's pleasant talk and wanted to visit England someday. |

| The history of garden opening in Japan is not long yet, just three years. Aida said Chersy Club's activities of Oita belonged to a longer category. Four years ago, I was involved in starting up of the restaurant section in Ohga Herb Farm in which Mrs. Hara was teaching the making of gardening. When Mrs. Hara was planning the basic design of her garden opening together with her friends, I was involved a little as well. I am very happy that our friendship attracted attention of a researcher of a university in the way like this. |
