It was about seven years ago when I was first
interested in a personal computer. I was
then introduced COARA, a PC communication
group, and soon joined it using a word processor.
Since personal computer was then thought
to be very expensive and difficult gadget,
I just used to envy those friends who owned
and demonstrated them proudly.
Time went on. People began to talk noisily
about the possibility of accessing to the
Internet, and home page making classes were
frequently held sponsored by COARA as well.
Only PC owners could join the class. It was
very hard for me to resist the lure of getting
a PC. I discussed my husband about buying
it. To ease my heart, I got an Internet ID
even without a PC in 1994 autumn. It had
an opposite effect on me. Through the frustrating
on-line discussion on what kind of computer
should we buy, we finally got a new, long-waited
personal computer on my husband's birthday
next March. Thanks to a lot of young friends
of COARA, I have come to use netsurfing and
E-mailing.
In this March, my husband has retired. In
commemoration with it, we are planning to
make a trip to the USA. During our stay in
the US, we will do many things such as to
keep revise my home page, taking contact
with E-mail friends, and enjoy COARA as we
do in Japan. In order to do so, I bought
a new note PC
Timely, a roaming service was started in
COARA. I also intend to make the most of
it by accessing the home-page-type electronic
conference using my note PC. I have many
things to learn from my friends.
Of course, I will bring with me both the digital video camera I borrow from COARA and a digital camera(second camera in my house.) I will send some of the tape I take in the US back to COARA, hoping they will be aired on the regular Internet live program. I will also take many digital pictures such as off-line meeting with Internet friends or unusual landscape of the US, and use them on my home page. I will bring most gadgets to the US, except a printer. I will have a good experience. Thank you friends!
