August 31,1999: Good bye Seoul by Mie
We leave Seoul today. As I wanted to escape from the smell of Kimchi, I took bread and coffee for breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel together with Ms. Fujii. Some of female members said they enjoyed a breakfast mixed with local residents at a stand nearby. Around nine a.m. Ms. Kim of East-West Tour picked us at the hotel.
On the way to Kimpo International Airport, we swung in a souvenir shop. First, a clerk offered various kinds of Kimchi dishes, saying, "They are excellent for souvenir." I bought Korean white radish Kimchi and cod roe pickled in mustard for my husband.
The airport was very close from the souvenir shop. Now, we will leave Seoul. We paid airport fee, received boarding pass of Asiana Airlines, and checked in our luggage.
Ms. Kim sees us off; she was a very cheerful lady. We passed the X-ray checker and frisked again and again at the boarding gate. As there were long lines of the passengers, it took a long time to clear the departure formalities.
On the plane, a lunch box of white boiled rice was served. I was relieved to take it because I have been tired of the taste of thick Kimchi and grilled meat. During viewing down through the window and chatting with pleasant memories, we soon arrived at Fukuoka airport without trouble.

The airport was in drizzle. Kamenoi bus picked us up and headed to Oita. We arrived Oita JR station at 3:30 p.m. It was still hot and humid compared with cool Seoul. Although a pleasant atmosphere was still lingering on among us, I said good-bye.
Well, the pleasant COARA "school excursion" was over. In the evening, I accessed to the PC after a long absent and found so many participants of the trip were exchanging mails, all of them talking about nice trip and next time travel. It was really fulfilling two-nights-three-days trip to Seoul.
