July 20: Welcome two students from Changsin High School

by Mie
We will have two Korean students from Changshin high school, Masan, southern part of Korea. They will stay at my house for two days. We drove up to Beppu high school attached to Beppu college to pick them up.

On the wall of the guest hall is such a wonderful banner that reads "welcome Changshin high school." The high school is attached to Changshin College to which we visited this April in relation with the Internet home page on the late Mr. Terao. When I first heard of the home stay, I was surprised to know that they would come from Changshin, but at the same time, I was very delighted as well.
Host families are waiting for the arrival of the students who flew in Fukuoka airport and headed to Beppu by bus.
Now, they come in. They are all in uniform and big luggages with hands. The 34 students will stay in 17 host families.
All of them have seated. The students and the host families sit in face-to-face position. Who will come to my house?
They look like tensioned, but seem to be pleasant as well.
Mr. Kimoto, the principal of Beppu high school, makes a few words and talks about the home stay program this time.
The pastor of Changshin high school appreciates to Beppu high school and the host families.
After a briefing and meeting, the students were taken along to the host.
Mr. Park Jong-ik and Mr. Yang Ho-kyung stay at my house.
Beppu Bay in a beautiful sunset.
After we arrived home and refreshing by shower, we started a barbecue party. They helped us by making a stove fire.
Mr. Yang, to the left of my husband, wants to become a diplomat, and Mr. Park, on the right, wants to become an economist. Both of them are the promising students.
Our close friend Mr. Miyase joined us to boost up the welcome party.

The students look like enjoying the atmosphere, they are chatting with my husband in English.
Now, all of us were filled up. We moved to the air-conditioned living room. Mr. Yang calls his parents in Masan, already got homesick?
They are enjoying the Internet connection, browsing various pages including ours. All the students will go sightseeing by bus tommorow. As we have to get up early in the next morning, we exchanged good-night.
