Japanese June 19, 2006 - July 11, 2006: Trip to Europe |
|
July 27 The hotel in Bern was modern high building. |
|
I sit idle in the commuter time.
We then arrived at Montreux to visit Chillon castle.
Our lovely guide "Niki." A Japanese local guide attended us here.
Castle of Chillon had once been a prison on the shore of lake Leman. The ceiling of the castle was of 13th century gothic style.
In an old castle with small windows only were prisoners chained and executed here. The corpse was then thrown away through this window, they say.
Armors | |
Old beautiful gun grip in 1610s.
The castle tour was dark for me. I was relieved by the bright weather when I dashed out of the castle.
Now, let's continue the bus tour. We entered France almost without notice.
The border. No check. | |
Chamonix in France. We took a good lunch. The taste was very good as expected.
We took a ropeway to Aiguille du Midi view point 3842 at a stretch.
The ropeway was thrilling.
Aiguille du Midi view point 3842
"White Mountain", or Montblanc(4807m),was in the cloud unfortunately.
Chamonix needles. | |
The weather was so and so.
We then headed Switzerland again.
To Geneva | |
We entered Geneva. | |
A flower dial. As there was no chance to keep the bus stop, we could see only through the bus window.
Beautiful hotels on the shore of lake Leman.
United Europe Headquarters.
We arrived at the hotel at last.
