April 5, 2006: Cherry in Kumamoto

I was relieved when I arrived at "View Point" after driving through the way to Kumamoto covered with thick mist. The cloud bottom has lifted up at last.
My cherry blossoms was already in full bloom, but it was barely started to open in the highland.
I passed by Kumamoto Forest Research Center.

The metasequoia trees were holding small buds.
Pink weeping cherry was very beautiful!
Musashi-Tsuka park.
The statue of Miyamoto Musashi, a great swordsman in the 17th century.

A whips of spring wind scattered the petals.
The next flower to come is azalea
 
I love this Ohtsu street lined with cedar trees. Beautiful rape flowers and cherry blossoms welcomed me .
Cherry blossoms at the entrance of Aso caldera.
Yamanami plateau was still in the early spring.
The outward road was in the white mist, but the homeward road was already cleared up. I could enjoy a comfortable drive.
