June 11, 2003: Firefly watching
The rainy season started on June 9 here in Oita, TV announced so. We have a short break in the evening today. We visited Sasamuta shrine expecting to watch the dancing fireflies in the dark. We crossed the over bridge of the shrine.

Yes, We found it
in the small stream running through the precincts.
Faint cold lights flicker here and there. I used to enjoy much more fireflies in my small days and watched them together with my family.
I am happy to be able to watch the dancing this year as well, however.
I prayed the shrine wishing for seeing the firefly next year.
The drizzle started again late in the night. I found a beautiful network of the spider on the arched rose bush.
