Japanese November 10, 2002: Black tea and antique jewelry |
Winter has arrived here in Oita at last. On a warm Sunday today, I came up to a hot spot like this together with my friends.
A hot spot in an ordinary residential area? Even a Union Jack flag swings in the air.
An insider would know that this is the very "The House of Black Tea." A crazy England lover opened the shop Paddington Room at last. |
Not only black tea itself, many other black-tea-related-goods are on the shelves.
Wonderful accessories of late 19th to early 20th century. On a good timing, Christmas brooches attract my attention. In Europe, many people collect the kind of brooches only, they say. |
From left, Yumiko who brought back those goods from London all the way, owner Noura, and Takahashi who took me here today.
Yumiko explained the goods in detail. The a cameo hides a couple of man and woman, can you see it? The answer is that at the top of the head is a woman and in the bang is a man. The couple is unintentionally carved in the cameo. |

Out of many rings, Yumiko picked up a sample called "Shake hands ring." When I opened the shook hand, a shape of heart appeared. What a wonderful art! What lady was presented such a wonderful goods?
I enjoyed a pleasant afternoon over the aroma of good black tea. |
Many other wonderful cakes made me very happy.
I could make many good new friends today. |
