2001 USA-Germany Travel Record

September 27, 2001: At Don and Mayumi's house

Don and Mayumi welcomed us warmly. The lovely kid room was opened for us.

I got up early in the morning due to a slight jet lag. I checked pictures taken by my digital camera on the kitchen table on the first floor. I want to continue making homepage all through the travel. I am not sure to what extent I can do it, however.

Don goes to office with carrying a lunchbox. He put it in a lunchbox bag I presented him before. I am very glad to see it. We drove out with Don's Cadillac. First, my husband followed Mayumi's instruction for calling back his skill of driving.

We visited IKEA shopping center. I had once visited the shop in Washington as well.

My favorite kitchenwares are everywhere. Unfortunately, I can't buy a lot; I just bought kitchen towels and paper napkins. The shopping cart can be lift up by the escalator.

After taking lunch at a Thai restaurant, I visited Oak Brook apartment complex in which I was living two decades ago. The Stars and Stripes is hung down from the terrace of a room. The flag is almost sold out at any supermarket, they say.

Next visit was Sam's club, a member only wholesale shop. We bought a large pizza disk.

In the dinner, all of us enjoyed it and took pictures. After that, I sent mails, made homepage, and enjoyed chatting in the PC room. Thank you very much Don and Mayumi!
