October 10, 2001: Night Life

At 6:30 p.m., Klaus and Kaeko came to our room with beer and canape in hands. Kaeko prepared wonderful canape using precious mushroom she bought at the market this morning. It was so tasty and crispy. We are going to enjoy a night show called "Kaiserpalais" in this hotel.

The theater was once a concert hall with wonderful decorations. Our seats were in the top front. The show soon started. Markus Schimpp, master of performance, plays wonderful piano and talk. He is really a good entertainer.

Mey Ling's art needs unbelievable muscle power with a beautiful smile. Her elegant performance received a roar of applause.

Tightrope stunts, magic, pantomime, and other performances make me fascinated. The audience enjoys them with wine or beer. We also enjoyed wonderful wine Mr. Klaus selected for us.

Bicycle do stunt riding, aerial acrobat, and other wonderful and thrilling performances continue endlessly. The emcee makes people laugh and relax the tension as well.

There were artistic laser show like those.

Before I knew, two hours passed so quickly. All the performers lined up in the finale. The audience and performers are in one atmosphere.

Curtain calls continued. Each performer re-played their tips of elated arts.

Niels, the pantomimist got the bless of his 40-year birthday today. He got a candle-lit bouquet and cerebrated with "Happy birthday" chorus.

The scarlet drop curtain announced the end of the show. I found anew by looking up the tall ceiling and felt it was really beautiful. I was moved again. I thought that the hall must have make good sound in the old days. I wish I could hear a concert in a wonderful hall like this. As we were so moved, we visited a small restaurant nearby and toasted for our health.
