On the 3rd of February, we have a pleasant ceremony called "Setsubun". This is one of the traditional annual events still widely prevailing throughout Japan. We drive away the devils from the household in order to welcome a new spring.

We also enjoy the event by scattering roasted beans. Upon opening the entrance door, I shout "Out with ogres!" to drive away people in ogre masks.

Immediately after they have run away, I again call in a loud voice saying "In with luck!" to invite happiness into home. Then the door is quickly shut up. Next morning, spring comes home by knocking on the door.
