Autumn grass such as Japanese pampas grass, Karukaya grass, bush clover, and Chinese bell flower are listening to the melody of Japanese flute played in Oita. Mr. Hyakkei Fukuhara, who used to visit me in Tokyo for practice putting rubber boots on his feet, has became a good teacher and borne the big cultural fruit in Oita district.
Today, I have shown myself up here from Tokyo to meet his pupils and listen to the results of their practice. Owing to the contribution of Mr. Hyakkei, including his family, and enthusiasm of his pupils have realized the second concert of Oita Japanese-flute club as a part of the 23rd Oita prefecture art festival. The club keeps develop its further activities from now on.
I can't forget the ruin of Oka castle in Taketa city I visited before. I also learned that Mr. Hyakkei has the regular concert at the garden of the hotel in Yufuin. I believe that such a constant piling up of the efforts has brought up today's success.
It is sometimes said that grandchildren are lovelier than children. I am just like that because I am surrounded by many grand-pupils, I feel very happy now. Today, my performance will be on stage and I am expecting Mr. Hyakkei's pupils play as well.
