November 1st 1997

During this three consecutive holidays, I went to my old home along with my husband. We bought JR's special train ticket called "Full Moon Pass", or seniors special pass, with which we could get on first-class car. We left home about ten in the morning. We got Nippou Line first, then changed to Shinkansen. We arrived at my old parents' home in Tatsuno city, Hyogo prefecture, in the evening. The old hills and river make me feel quite relieved. My parents were waiting eagerly for us. I sat down in front of the family Buddhist alter and reported my visit to my ancestors. We four talked much pleasantly over tea and celebrated each other for health.

November 3rd 1997

It is a wonderful refreshing clear day of cool autumn. I walked around a small park nearby. I saw a Chrysanthemum flower display in the park. On the hill side is "Trail of nursery rhymes." Tatsuno city is the home town of a famous nursery rhyme named "Red dragonfly." This is because there is a nursery rhyme park. When someone stands in front of a monument of the song, a melody comes out automatically from the speaker. There are so many monuments, indeed. The autumn color has not sort of come yet, but I enjoyed a refreshing time.

November 9th 1997

I went to Oita University yesterday and today to make a presentation at the "PC Conference '97" held there. My presentation's title was "Network connects campus and local community, toward the new usage of computer." I talked about how I enjoy the Internet using my home page on the back screen. Many attendants were eagerly listening to it. I also learned much about the role of local university and actual state of the educational world of Japan.

November 13th 1997

I attended at Hyper Network '97 Beppu Bay Conference(BBC) held during 11-13th November. On the 10th evening, I went to Oita air port along with my husband to pick Mr.Pindar Wong up, a guest speaker from Hong Kong. He is still 28 years old and very active. He talked eagerly about the Internet all through the way to the hotel. On the 11th, the three-days Conference started at Beppu Bay Royal hotel with the basic presentation by Mr.Kumon. Two American guest speakers, Mr. Andrew Michael Cohill, and Miss Madeline Gonzalesmade unique presentations. The actual state of Oita was presented as well. On the second day was a session on female community. Mrs.Yuri Tazawa from Kitami city talked about her activity. The back ground of female-exclusive mailing list in COARA was also reported by a chairwoman and many female attendants discussed about their fresh activities. All the attendants seemed to be satisfied by hearing them.

November 19th 1997

Today, we had a House Account Class sponsored by The Group of Friend. Unexpectedly, 95 people took part in to study with us. I was in charge of exhibition manager. There were many exhibitions like "Breakfast", "Actual display of garbage sorting", and previous display of the coming Christmas bazaar.
