December 12: So many pleasant things in Tatsuno by Mie

In the morning, my son and daughter-in-law met my father for inquiry. They are relieved to see that my father is healthier than feared. We have had a pleasant time over tea by taking the memories of wedding.
On the surface of the pillar are many " marks" that records the height of the families. My son, Takehito, has his own notches since his small days. He notched a new mark this time as well and daughter-in-law, Yasuyo, also marked her first notch on it.

As it was hard to stay in home on a sunny day like this, we went out for Tatsuno park nearby, still colored beautifully by the remnants of autumnal leave. My son used to play with small animals such as deer and monkeys in the park. He looked like feel a longing for faint memories and explained them to his wife.
From the observation platform, we can see as far as the eye can reach to Seto Inland Sea. It is very warm today as middle of December.
It was so warm today that we drove out together with my parents. On a wall along Ibo River at Higashi Hashisaki are lovely Buddhist images called "Gods of Ibo River" engraved on the precipice. Local residents worship them.

We came to Noodle Museum in Kamioka town. My son and his wife eagerly listen to the explanation and watch the demonstration.

They love to eat noodle very much. They were very glad to have a chance challenging the noodle making, they said. They also bought a lot of souvenirs to their friends. We enjoyed a late lunch of noodle together in the Museum. I took my parent to the graveyard of the family. For my old father, it was cold a little, but he enjoyed a drive after a long time.

Today is my mother's birthday, just two days later than mine. We have been cerebrated together since my small days. This time, my son and daughter-in-law suddenly offered us to cerebrate our birthdays tonight. They bought tasty cakes in advance. We were really delighted.

They said they ordered a special cake Baumkuchen to a famous shop in Tokyo. The number of birthday candles should be 138 in total, but it is impossible to blow out them all. We set two candlestick and blew them off instead. All the families cerebrated us by singing "Happy Birthday to You." My mother and I cut the cake together.
We all enjoyed the cake. As the young couple said, it was so smooth and tasty Baumkuchen. I don't know how long it has been since we had been cerebrated pleasant birthday like this.

Thank you Takehito and Yasuyo!
