December 3: A mailing list exchange party; by Mie
We have just 29 days left this year. Today, an exchange party of "Mailing List Exchange in Eight hot springs in Beppu" was held in an amusement hall in Beppu City. We drove up tothere in the bright colors of the sunset.

Mr. Yuuki (left) and Mr. Suga are in charge of preparation today. They have already arrived at the center well earlier of the opening. As we still have a lot of time yet, we decided to take a hot spring in Takegawara hot spring. I have been around here many times, but this is the first time for me to take bathing in it. The hot spring was very comfortable and I spent a long time in it.
We have a party at Hitparade. A Christmas tree is set in front of the entrance and beautiful lamps are flickering on the gate.

The guests flocked in twos and threes. The party started with the introduction of the mailing list (ML) groups: Oitant, Yufuin, Usuki, Beppu foreign students supporters', and Nakatsu. Mr. Fukase, the president of the club, and his younger brother Mr. Kurita made a few words followed by a big toast. Today's emcees are Mrs. Furushou of Yufuin ML and Mr. Fujio.

Today's special entertainer is GenderWayan, a newly started combination of a vocal group. Ms. Wayan is from Saeki City, Oita prefecture. They recently released a new CD album attracting many people's attention. This is the first live performance here in Kyushu island. Her relatives and parents also join the party.
Her performance is called "healing music with ethnic flavor." The sound was very misterious for me, but her voice was so clear and rich to my ears. Many people sitting around me are cheering her vigorously.
We also bought a CD and asked her autograph.
In Hitparade, we can enjoy drinking and eating as well. We can take foods and drinks from the smorgsboad style buffet.

I have had a pleasant time with many friends: from left Mr. Aikawa from Yufuin, Mr. Matsumura from Oita, Mr. Suyama from Kitsuki, my husband Ken, Mr. Tomoda from Oita, and Mr. Kikuchi from Yufuin.
Mr. Tomoda has recently got an unusual camera in hand. The camera was made in the smallest camera manufacturer in the world, he explains me really pleasntly.
A lottery has started on the stage. Ms. Wayan draws the lots.

One out of three can win a prize, but what was unlucky, I missed any of the prizes. Mr. Suyama happily demonstrates his prize "Takegawara blue liquor" and my husband (left) got a miniature of bike sponsored by Mr. Aikawa (right.)
At 9 p.m, the party was over, but we still remained in the seat and enjoyed the show by the Hitparade's entertainers. They performed many dear old songs one after another that appealed in our young days.
Some people can not sit still in their seat anymore. Mr. Inoue dances in red shirt and Mr. Fujio wearing white T-shit relax and enjoy dancing after his role as an emcee was over.
Miss Korenaga from COARA office enjoys the stage as well, but she and I at last stood up to join the dance.
Mr. Fujio, Miss Korenaga, Mr. Inoue, and I are dancing on dear old musics we used to enjoy in our young days. I have had a pleasant time tonight by eating, chatting, and soaked in sweat. Thank you all who arranged such a pleasant party in Beppu.
