October 9, 1999: A new Internet friend by Mie
One of my close friends nearby has recently bought a personal computer to join the Internet. She has already registered on a provider. Today, I visited her to help connect the net.

Her home features its grand vista from the living room through the large window opened to the north. Three famouse mountains sit silently under the blue sky, from left Mt. Yufu, Mt. Tsurumi, and Mt. Takasaki.

A new personal computer is set in a corner of the living room.

Mr. Yuuki, one of my best friends, works on wiring the phone line from the bedroom to the living room. He fixes the wire so as not to be visible from the living room.

Now comes the line to the PC.
He soon sets up the PC to connect the Internet. My friend is eagerly watching the process together with her husband.

Now the PC was connected to the Internet. My friend was delighted, saying she could now enjoy net surfing or e-mail exchange. Mr. Yuuki all set up perfectly. My friend is taking memo to understand how to set the address of the couple or alocate their addresses in the folder. An old mother in her age of 97 is interested in looking the scene.

My husband soon turned back home to check and send back the test messages. A mail has just arrived successfully. All were over in success. We were relievd. I hope the couple will enjoy a pleasant Internet life after now.
