September 27-29: Kyushu Block meeting by Mie

In the first day's meeting, the result of the nation-wide research held in June under the theme of "Time management in a week" was reported. In Kyushu Block, 1224 homes answered the questionnaire. The time was recorded in each home category, homes with: babies and little children, kids in kindergarten, kids in elementary school, students in junior-high and high school, adults, no children, elders ranging 65-74, elders over 75, and singles. We analyzed how to use time effectively.
There were some reports as well on the usage of time for two groups of women, with and without business.
Group of Friends was founded by the readers of a monthly magazine "Fujin-no-tomo", or "Female Friends", originated by Mrs. Motoko Hani. The Group will cerebrate its 70th anniversary next year. Many branches are preparing for the anniversary. On the second day, each group reported its activity. I talked about the preparation status in Oita branch.
Group of Friends has been exchanging with Bangladesh since 1985. As the program is called "Kitchen-based exchange", we help women of Bangladesh improve their nutrition or support themselves. Six members from Kyushu block will visit Bangladesh next year. Mrs. Araki from Oita branch, in red sweater, will join the mission. The inaugural meeting was held this afternoon. Some members from Okinawa branch will also join the mission to share the time to think about life improvement. We will learn much from the people in Bangladesh. I am expecting to hear the return report.
