March 13: The last day with our Yang
by Mie
At last, today is the last day to be with lovely Yang in my house. Yang reports the end of the homestay to Mr. Akimitsu Hirano, the president of "Exchange of Local Culture and International Association" phone 097-546-0261, before the departure.
。From March fifth to 13th, it has been long-and-short nine days. As we don't have a daughter, we couldn't have understood how briliant and wonderful it was to live with a girl. Dear Yang, our virtual daughter, how was the homestay? Have you succeeded in what you had set out to do, such as to experience an ordinary life with a Japanese family, try Japanese dish cooking, learning Japanese, and enjoy hot springs? We strongly hope to see you again at my home. Have a nice day.
Now, she put her luggage into the carat her "home" in Fujimigaoka.

As we have had a short time in downtown Oita, we asked her to go shopping with me. First, we entered a furniture shop and bought a bookshelf in order to store National Geographic magazines which were neatly sorted and indexed by Yang. We also took a look at Japanese furniture like a chest of drawers made of paulownia wood or lacquered one. Next we visited a bookstore to get some guidebooks of Korea, because we are to make a trip to Korea next month. Yang presented me a guidebook and a textbook of Korean language, saying "Those are the present to 'mom'." I was so delighted. I treasure them in my arms. She bought a bus ticket to Oita air port by herself. "Thank you very much, Yang, we have had pleasant days." "Thank you for your kindness extended to me during my stay in your home." She smiled and got on the bus. We felt so sad. Yang, let's talk over E-mails after today, and do not forget us.
