May 23: from New London CT to Long Island NY

May 23 morning

We will get on a ferry boat of 7 a.m. to cross It is so cool that we need jackets. On the back is the downtown of New London, CT. Some passengers carry their pets like big dogs, rabbit, and bird. It will take an hour and a half to Long Island. The fare is $30 for a car with driver, $9 for an additional passenger.
We landed on Orient Point, north fork of Long Island. Then we got the other two ferries to cross Shelter island. Then we headed to the east end of south fork of Long Island, Montauk Lighthouse. On the pleasant drive way to the lighthouse are many spots of interest crowded with a lot of people who enjoy three consecutive holidays of Memorial Day.
Atlantic Ocean view from the top of the lighthouse was calm and beautiful. In front of the house was a museum that displayed hard days memory of the construction. I got a piece of T-shirt of the lighthouse print as a souvenir.
In the other fork, north, are many wineries. We dropped in one of them. Musicians were playing country songs on the sundeck, people were enjoying it over wine glass. After tasting, we got a bottle of wine and enjoyed it, oh, yes, it is plain water that fills the glass in front of my husband.
