March 11: Visiting my mother, by Mie
I left Oita port around seven last evening by a ferry boat to visit my mother. Diamond ferry arrived at Kobe port before seven in a cloudy morning that may turn to rain in the evening.
I am a frequent passenger of the ferry line, and it is one of my pleasure to take breakfast somewhere in Kobe City. Usually I take it at a hotel on Rokko Island, but this time I tried to find a new place. I soon entered downtown Kobe by crossing this red arched bridge.
Kobe City, an exotic port town, has been my special dreaming place since my young days. Whenever I heard the word Kobe, it reminded me of something exciting atmosphere.

I drove down to American Harbor and found an interesting fish monument like this on the ramp.
Yes, I will take breakfast at Hotel Okura, an excellent hotel with a high tower building; I have long been interested in. Wonderful flowers in the pods welcomed me at the lobby. Pink primula is in its full bloom.
From the spacious lobby, I can see a unique monument modeled on fishing net or the canvas of a sailboat in the backyard of Kobe Marine Museum. An orange cylindrical object seems to be a retired submersible. The hotel garden is planted with thick trees.
A beautiful Japanese garden, looking down from the lobby, is still in winter-like color.
I took a buffet-type breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere in the late morning.

I found an unusual electric hot pod filled with scrambled egg to the edge. Good idea, the pod may keep the ingredient in an appropriate temperature. The taste was great.
